Director of Construction, Orinda Gateway LLC/Brooks Street, Orinda, Calif. 1997 - 2012
- By gaining team membership, I was able to lead the effort to acquire a high-barrier project entitlement for 245-lot, 1,600-acre Wilder Project requiring interaction with governing agencies, public utilities, Army Corp of Engineers, Fish and Game, Fish and Wildlife and others
- Effectively-managed construction including 8 million cubic-yards of grading, building major infrastructure including sewer lift stations, bridges and relocation of over a mile of 115v overhead power lines, migration of endangered species, and creek restoration saving over $10 million in value engineering
Vice President, Yamaoka Builders, Sunnyvale, Calif. 1995 - 1997
- Delivered three multifamily projects, one podium construction, on schedule and in budget
- Earned the owner over $4 million by resolving four long-standing, legacy defect claims through astute negotiation with the insurance company
Project Manager, Madsen, Kneppers and Associates, Walnut Creek, Calif. 1991 - 1995
- Saved clients an estimated $20 million in annual claims by establishing cause, liability and cost, in product and construction defect claims
- Effectively represented both insurance companies and law firms with regard to resolving disaster claims emanating from the Oakland Hills fire, Hurricane Andrew, and the Northridge earthquake. Managed recovery assistance at a 620-unit Parkwoods Apartments after the Oakland fire.
- Analyzed and developed accurate construction re-build costs including code upgrades, through to the final stage of settlement
